Based in the practice of Embodied VoiceWork, I teach voice with a wholistic approach. What do you need to sing? What is getting in the way of your fullest expression? I combine a somatic approach with more traditional exercises to meet each student where they are at and support them in reaching their singing goals.
Voice Lessons
Whether struggling to finish the last song on your record or just beginning your songwriting journey, it’s helpful to have an extra set of ears. I have worked with students of all levels to hone their songwriting skills. Some students need support to bring their experience into words, permission to play. Others benefit from being asked the bigger questions about intention and impact, digging into the details of structure and poetry. Together we find what is needed to serve your unique song.
Songwriting Lessons
In addition to private lessons, I offer workshops for both singing and songwriting. When you connect into a larger relational field, singing becomes a whole other thing. It connects us to the big picture. We learn to listen and respond, to hear ourselves and another at the same time. Songwriting workshops are a chance to dig into collaboration, to explore vulnerability and creativity together. I offer workshops for all ages for both private institutions and public schools.
